Product Feature
 
The rack of PCS1800 system is a base with bus bottom for assembly, which can be used for installation of all modules of PCS1800 distributed control system.
There are two racks for PCS1800 system: 6-slot and 10-slot ones.
 
Main rack and extension rack
 
PCS1800 system comprises one main rack and multiple extension racks and modules. The rack equipped with the processor module is the main rack and the others are extension racks.
 
Use of extension rack
 
In case all slots on the main rack are used, extension racks can be used for extension. When extension racks are used, a power supply module of larger power may be required, in addiction to extra racks and CNet communication cables (see relevant contents of Part 2 for power supply configuration). If used, the CNet communication cable should be connected correctly.

Installation mode of rack
 
Please install the rack of PCS1800 distributed control system horizontally; allowed ambient
temperature: 0-50 ºC.
 
Requirements for rack spacing
 
The requirements for spacing of rack installation are shown in Figure 1, including the spacing
between rack and adjacent components, cable duct and cabinet wall(unit: mm)

Arrangement of modules on rack
 
 
Rules for module arrangement
1.The modules should be arranged from top to bottom and from left to right, in principle;
2.After a rack is filled with modules, and the arrangement can go to a next rack.
3.Place the processor module to the most left of the main rack;
4.Arrange AI and AO modules first and consider DI and DO modules;
5.Arrange the same of modules in a centralized manner, if without special requirements.

Connection of racks
 
Redundant connection via CNet cable should be used between racks.
 
The adjacent upper and lower racks should be connected with CNet cable in a head-to-head and
tail-to-tail manner.
